The Project
Shadows of Valdora is a multiplayer Action RPG set in a fantasy world. The once bustling city of Valdora has been reduced to ruins by an upsurge of evil, and it’s up to the players to contain the incoming darkness and rebuild the city to its former glory!
The gameplay consists of selecting a Hero among several and completing stages by defeating monsters. Heroes each possess unique skills that must be used wisely in combat to succeed. The game features real-time multiplayer, so guildmates or even random players can drop in a quest at any time to assist! Teamwork will make the dream work!
By accumulating loot and rewards from quests, the player can upgrade their Heroes and city to tackle greater challenges.
My Contribution
I have spearheaded the game’s development through many alpha stages and iterations. From its humble beginnings as a turn-based RPG(!), the project has evolved into an ambitious, fully multiplayer mobile game. I’ve set the stage with skill designs, story beats, FTE iterations and designs for future features. I’ve also handled the setup for most of the game’s spreadsheets and data, as well as integrated much of the Hero skills into the engine.
With the game now in Alpha release, I’ve turned my attention back to my main project (Shop Titans) and only serve as an occasional counsellor for the designers currently on this project.
